The Moose and Squirrel Chalet

The Moose and Squirrel is our rustic vacation home in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina.

Though there are no moose in this part of our world, there are plenty of squirrels along with woodchucks, chipmunks, deer, turkey, rabbits and tons of birds. You will enjoy watching the hummingbirds and butterflies flit in and out, dive bombing wildflower blooms, rhododendron blossoms, or the hummingbird feeders located on property.

In the summertime, the fireflies twinkle amidst the trees. 

The upper terrace wraps around a 100 year old Maple tree that has seen its share of history.

Autumn in this part of the world is a spectacular blend of vibrant colored leaves and cool nights with the smell of wood burning fires. Pick out your own pumpkin from nearby pumpkin patches, take a hayride or challenge yourself with a corn maze. 

If you are looking for a cozy retreat with snow covered vistas, this is the place to be for the winter ski and holiday season. Cut your own Christmas tree, cozy by the fire after a day of winter activities, or heat up in the sauna then relax your bones in the hot tub while looking out at the view.
